When are these workshops? And where?
Workshops #1 and #2 will each be held once a month, on a weekend day, at an office with a big table and whiteboards in the West Hollywood area. Check the schedule for specifics.
Mentorship happens at an agreed-upon-time at my dining room table — which has a very nice view of my kitchen. And the Pacific Design Center.
Do I have to take the workshops in order?
Not necessarily, but if you start with Workshop #2 and find yourself a bit behind the curve, you might want to go back in time and take Workshop #1.
Will enrolling in Inside the Writers Room result in my winning an Emmy?
Probably. Or at the very least, watching the Emmys and saying: “Whatever. I could’ve won that @#$^&* Emmy.”
If Jordan is so great, isn’t he too busy writing TV to do this?
He is. But, at a certain point, a TV writing career branches into development. Which affords one a little more time to help others move their careers forward. Like I said, I’ve been where you are. I have friends where you are. I care.
Will all this help me get a job?
That is the goal! But there’s no guarantee. Writing jobs can seem like mythical creatures in this town. But this program will train you to make your own luck and hone your craft so that when you do land that job, you’ll deliver in spades.
